These quilts were created by women in a rural African American community in Alabama. It's really an interesting story, and the quilts look like high quality modern art. Of course none of them had ever seen or been influenced by that. Before they had access to more fabrics they just made these out of old work clothes and dresses etc. Not psychedelic, exactly, but very cool.
